*********** By consent of both parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. Heard Mr.M.Elanchezhian, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Srimathy, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The writ petitioner's father was a Revenue Inspector, who died while in service on 24.07.2002. The writ petitioner was minor during the relevant point of time. He gave his application for appointment on compassionate ground in the year 2010. Since his application was not processed. This writ petition came to be filed https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in September, 2017, seeking consideration of the application dated 18.05.2010.

4. There is a gross delay in invoking the jurisdiction of this Court. The purpose of granting compassionate appointment is to enable the family to tide over the immediate financial crisis in which it is placed following the demise of the sole breadwinner. Such is not the case here. There is no merit in this Writ Petition.
