PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.11.2017 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.M.Alagathevan, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

3. The petitioner, who is a contractor, is before this Court and according to him, he has submitted an application before the first respondent, along with all the required certificates, so as to enroll himself as Grade-I contractor. As the first respondent has not passed any orders in his application, the petitioner was constrained to submit several representations. Despite the same, the authorities had not taken any action and aggrieved thereby, he is before this Court, seeking a direction to dispose of his representation, on merits.

4. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the

case, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.11.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merit and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
