PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to issue patta to petitioner land situated in punja survey No.338/6 to an extent of 1 acre in Navalpattu Village, based on the petitioner's representation dated 22.04.2023.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction to the third respondent /Tahsildar, Thiruverumbur Taluk, Trichy District, to grant patta to the petitioner for punja land No.338/6, measuring 1 acre at Navalpattu Village. The petitioner had given a representation on 22.04.2023.

2. In the affidavit filed in support of the Writ Petition, it had been claimed that the petitioner is in possession of the said land. 2/5

3. However, learned Special Government Pleader furnished records which indicated that the said land has been classified in the revenue records as "Tharisu" (jhpR). It is also stated that the competent authority to grant patta or not, is the second respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer, Trichy, since the land is classified as "Tharisu" (jhpR).

4. A direction is given to the second respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer, Trichy, to issue notice to the petitioner, call for records from the third respondent /Tahsildar, Thiruverumbur Taluk, Trichy District, about the nature of the land in the revenue records and pass necessary orders within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
