ORDER
This petition is for issuing a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to give adequate protection and secure the petitioner's inter-caste community married life peacefully and subsequently directing the respondents 4 and 5 not to harass the petitioner's married life.
2.Though the prayer is little bit confused, sum and substance the petitioner who is aged about 30 years has come before
this Court with the prayer in the following circumstances. The petitioner appears to have married a person of her choice against the wishes of her parents. It is stated that the man who has married the petitioner belongs to Reddy Kanjam community. The petitioner stated that earlier she was living with her parents at Pollachi, Coimbatore. It is stated that she is also working as Typist in Mahila Court, Thoothukudi, Thoothukudi District and married one Mr.R.S.Ravikumar. Since the petitioner's parents and elder brother opposed the marriage, the petitioner apprehending that the petitioner's parents and brother would cause some problem to their peaceful normal life, has approached this Court for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to give adequate protection and to secure the petitioner's inter-caste community married life peacefully and for directing the respondents 4 and 5 not to harass the petitioner's married life.
3.Except stating that the respondent 4 and 5 are threatening / harassing the petitioners, no specific incident of harassment has been stated in the petition. Merely because the petitioner states that the respondents 4 and 5 are threatening the petitioner and that they may go to any extent to spoil the petitioner's married life, this Court is unable to see any serious dispute or issue on account of the petitioners inter-caste marriage.
Be that as it may, since the petitioner has come forward with the specific relief making allegations against the respondents 4 and 5, this Court issued notice and the Inspector of Police concerned has sated that the petitioner's parents have responded pursuant to the complaint that was given by the petitioner and that they have given an undertaking not to interfere with the normal peaceful life of the petitioner or her husband. The second respondent has produced before this Court the records relating to the enquiry that was conducted by the second respondent. It reveals that the parents of the petitioner has given an undertaking in writing not to interfere with the peaceful and harmonious life of the petitioner. 4.Recording the said statement, this Writ Petition is closed.
However, in case, the petitioner has any difficulty, she is given liberty to approach the respondent for police protection, if it is really required having regard to the circumstances exists on that date. No costs.
