PRAYER :- For Anticipatory Bail in Crime No.16/2024 on the file of the Respondent Police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent Police, in connection with a case in Crime No.16 of 2024, for the offence punishable under Sections 406,420, 120(B), 294(b), 506 (ii) I.P.C and Section 5 of TNPID Act, has filed 1/3

this petition seeking anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and other accused cheated a sum of Rs.1,43,00,000/- from the defacto complainant and abused the defacto complainant by using filthy language and also criminally intimidated him. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police strongly opposed this petition and submits that the investigation is pending and the petitioner and other accused cheated a sum of Rs.1,43,00,000/-.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the nature of offence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
