Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the petitioner's commuted value of pension and all other attendant benefits together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum payable from the date of his retirement i.e, from 01.05.2016 to till the date on which the said benefits are settled to him. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.By consent of both the parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.Mr.D.Sivaraman, learned Standing Counsel, appearing for the respondents / Corporation submits that the principal amount payable to the petitioner is settled in full. The prayer in the writ Petition is for settlement of the commutation benefits. 4.Mr.D.Sivaraman, learned Standing Counsel, appearing for the respondents/Corporation submits that the same was settled on 16.12.2017 and 12.01.2018. It is also seen that there is a delay in settling the commutation benefits to the petitioner. For the said period of delay interest shall also be paid at the rate of 6% per annum. Such amount shall be paid on or before 31.08.2018. 5.The Writ Petition is allowed accordingly. No costs.
