O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to transfer patta in the petitioner's name regarding the property to an extent of 862 1⁄2 Sq. feet comprised in T.S.No.2633/2A/1 (610 sq. feet) and T.S.No.2602 (252 1⁄2 sq. feet) based on his application dated 14.6.2016.

2. Mr. J. Gunaseelan Muthiah, learned Government Advocate takes notice for R1 and Mr.M.Rajarajan, learned counsel for R2. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he had purchased a property from one V.Sethu Rao and his son by a sale deed registered in Doc.No.157 of 2000 and also constructed a house in the year 2001. Thereafter, he submitted an application dated 14.06.2016 to the third respondent for transfer of patta in his name. Since no action has been taken on the said application/representation, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent would submit that if a reasonable time is granted to the first respondent, the application/representation of the petitioner will be considered and appropriate orders be passed.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking into account the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to consider the application/representation of the petitioner dated 14.06.2016 and pass suitable orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties, if any.

6. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
