ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the Impugned Charge Sheet in S.T.C.No.3106 of 2019 on the file of learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Kovilpatti.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that State of Tamil Nadu has already passed an Government Order in G.O(MS)No.368, dated 04.09.2021 (Home Court-IV) Department stating that the Director General of Police has furnished the details of cases registered against the Freedom of Media/Press(2011-2021) and Protestors who protested peacefully against three Agricultural Amendment Laws, National Register of Citizens (NRC) / Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA), Eight Lane/ Methane/ Neutrino and Koodankulam issues as per Annexure (I -V) to be considered for withdrawal.

3. In view of the same, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the case pending in S.T.C.No.3106/2019 on the file of Learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.I,, Kovilpatti.

4. This Criminal Original Petition stands allowed and as a sequel, the proceedings in S.T.C.No.3106/2019 on the file of Learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.I,, Kovilpatti, is hereby quashed. Consequently connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 19.06.2023 NCC :
