The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent herein to grant permission and give necessary police protection for conducting Adal Padal programme on 21.07.2016 in connection with the Festival of Arulmighu Sri Agasaveeranar Thirukovil situated at Pallavarayanpatthai Village Karambakudi Taluk Pudukkottai District based on petitioner's representation dated 29.06.2016.

2. Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the programme is being conducted by the villagers regularly in order to promote harmony during the above said festival period. That a representation was given to the respondents, but, however, the same was not considered by the respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would further submit that as the aforesaid festival is celebrated in a peaceful manner by the villagers, there will be no https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

untoward incident on account of this celebration.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that considering the law and problem prevalent in the area, the permission for conducting the programme is under consideration.

6.Considering the arguments made on either side, the respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 29.06.2016 of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and as per law immediately, as the function is stated to be scheduled on 21.07.2016 . 7.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of.
