O R D E R
By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. Alleging that the respondents, despite the order of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Theni in C.M.P.No.71/2017 in C.C.No.07/2017 dated 27.07.2017, are not taking any steps to restore the electricity connection to the petitioner's house, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 27.10.2017, requesting them to comply with the aforesaid order. As the same is also kept pending, without any action, he is before this Court.
3. Mr.E.P.Venkateshwar for Mr.S.M.S.Johny Basha, learned Counsel, who takes notice for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the authorities are inclined to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 27.10.2017, within a stipulated time limit.
4. Heard both sides and perused the documents placed on record.
5. A perusal of the typed set of papers would show that the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Theni, by order dated 27.07.2017, had directed the respondents to restore the electricity connection, within a period of three weeks. It is four months, since the aforesaid order came to be passed and having not filed any appeal to the said order, the act of the respondents in keeping the matter pending is unjustifiable.
6. Under such circumstances, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 27.10.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
