The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to grant permission and protection to conduct the "Aadalum Paadalum" dance programme on 12.07.2016 from 08.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m in pursuant to the "Kuthiraiyaduppu" festival of Arulmighu Sri Ayyanar situated at Koothadivayal Village, Aranthangi Taluk, Pudukottai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 05.07.2016.
2. Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, who strongly objected to the celebration, on the ground that there is a law and problem in that locality and therefore, it is not an ideal time for granting permission to conduct the programme.
4. Under such circumstances, the apprehension of the respondents cannot be easily brushed aside, as the responsibility of maintaining law and order problem rests only with the respondent police and it is for the respondent police to assess the present situation prevalent in that area. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Therefore, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.07.2016 and pass orders on the same immediately, as the programme is scheduled to be held on 12.07.2016. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Sd/ Assistant Registrar(Records) /True Copy/ Sub Assistant Registrar.
