ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 in Crime No.5 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner/Accused No.1 and the 2nd accused Vinoth @ Parasuraman have deceived the De-facto Complainant to the tune of Rs.65,00,000/- in the guise of aiding him for obtaining approval for his proposed Arts and Science College to be established at Karthigaipatti, Srivilliputhur, by utilizing the political influences of the petitioner with the former ministers of Tamil Nadu. Hence, the apprehension of arrest. Hence, a case has been registered as against the petitioner. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and he has not committed any offence. He seeks this Court to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) strongly opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 2/4

5.This Court directed the petitioner to appear before the respondent Police and cooperate with the investigation. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that the petitioner has not appeared before the respondent Police.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the nature and gravity of the offence and the specific overt act against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner at this stage.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 17/11/2025 TMG 3/4
