ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.) The prayer made in this Writ Petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 to 4 to make necessary changes in the patta of farmers residing in N.Jegaveerapuram and K.Kumarediyarpuram in Thoothukudi District, on the basis of the representations of the petitioner, dated 28.01.2020, 03.02.2020, 20.02.2020, 25.02.2020 and 28.09.2020 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that with regard to entry of details in respect of patta of Villagers with reasonable claim to avail the benefits announced by the Government of India, the petitioner made several representations to the authorities, however, the same are still pending before the authorities.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2 to 4 submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be considered on merits.

4. In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the respondents 2 to 4 to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.09.2020 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law. Such an exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
