Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give permission to conduct the Aadal Padal and Gramia cultural program scheduled to be conducted on 15.07.2016 in connection with 24th year Sri Udaya Nachiamman Kovil Kumbabiseka Festival at Sengulam Village, Aruppukkottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District and to provide adequate security to the festival.

O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent herein to grant permission and adequate protection to conduct the Aadal Padal and Gramia cultural program scheduled to be conducted on 15.07.2016 in connection with 24th year Sri Udaya Nachiamman Kovil Kumbabiseka Festival at Sengulam Village, Aruppukkottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

regularly in order to promote harmony during the above said festival period; that a representation was given to the respondent on 05.07.2016, however, the same was not considered by the respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would further submit that as the aforesaid festival is celebrated in a peaceful manner by the villagers, there will be no untoward incident on account of this celebration. 5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, gave an undertaking that the respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.

6.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law forthwith, as the programme is scheduled to be held on 15.07.2016.

7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
