Respondents [R5 is impleaded as per order dated 18.12.2025, made in W.M.P.(MD)No.12879 of 2023] PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 herein to the petitioner for death of the petitioner's husband namely Mari on 03.02.2007 at Mandapam, Ramanathapuram District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2023 in accordance with law, within time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2023, regarding compensation for the death of the petitioner's husband, namely Mari, on 03.02.2007 at Mandapam, Ramanathapuram District, in accordance with law, within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, her husband, Mari, passed away on 03.02.2007 at Mandapam, Ramanathapuram District. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 12.04.2023 to the respondents seeking compensation in relation to her husband's death. As the respondents have not acted on the representation, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondents to consider her representation in accordance with law within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that the fifth respondent is the competent authority to consider representation of the petitioner.

4. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the petitioner to submit a fresh representation outlining her grievances to the fifth respondent, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon receipt of such representation, the fifth respondent shall consider it on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within four weeks thereafter.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
