Govt. Pleader COMMON ORDER W.P.(MD) No.2290/2017 has been filed challenging the order passed by the 3rd respondent and for a consequential direction to the 1st respondent to grant permission for conducting demonstration on 10.02.

2017 or any other date at Telephone Exchange Office at Karur Bus Stand, Karur District from evening 5.00 p.m. to 07.00 p.m. 2.W.P.(MD) No.4132/2017 has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting public meeting on behalf of Youth and Student Movement for Sovereignity of Races on 11.03.2017 at Anna Thidal, R.S.Mangalam, Ramanathapuram District.

3. These two petitions have been filed by the petitioners herein to direct the respondent police to give permission for conducting a public meeting in connection with the incident that took place during the recent Jallikattu Protest.

4. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Government has appointed Hon'ble Mr.S.Rajeswaran, Retired Judge of this Court, to enquire into the incident relating to Jallikattu by G.O.Ms.No.97 Public (Law and Order - F) Department dated 31.01.2017. In the light of the fact that the learned Judge has commenced the enquiry proceedings, it will not be in the public interest to permit such meetings. Therefore, the prayer that has been sought for by the petitioners cannot be granted. Accordingly, these writ petitions are dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioners to appear before the learned Judge and submit their grievances. No costs.
