These Petitions are filed under section 482 of Cr.P.C to issue a direction to the Judicial Magistrate, Nilakottai to dispose STC No.722 and 721 of 2016 respectively within a reasonable time period to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
ORDER: These Criminal Original Petitions coming on for orders on this day under the caption "for extension of time" and upon perusing the earlier order of this court dated 16/09/2019 and subsequently time extended by this Court vide order dated 18/01/2021 and requisition letter submitted by the learned Judicial Magistrate,Nilakottai, vide letter D.No.1164,dated 11/07/2022, this Court made the following order:
Today, these cases are listed under the caption for "Extension of Time for Lower Court".
2.It is evident from the records that this Court, vide order dated 16.09.2019, has directed the trial Court to dispose of the cases in S.T.C.Nos.722 and 721 of 2016 within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. Subsequently, at the request of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Nilakottai, this Court, vide order dated 18.01.2021, has granted two more months time for disposal of the cases. Now, the learned Magistrate has submitted a requisition, dated 11.07.2022, seeking further two months time for disposing the above cases. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
3.Considering the reasons assigned, this Court is inclined to extend the time sought for. Accordingly, two months time is granted to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Nilakottai for disposal of the cases in S.T.C.Nos.722 and 721 of 2016, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
