ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to issue patta in respect of the land comprised in survey Nos.171/2, 171/4 and 171/10, to an extent of 1.88 acres, situated in Manjanaickenpatti, Sholapuram Post, Ettayapuram Taluk, Thoothukudi District,

2. Heard the arguments of Mr.A.S.Vaigunth, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Gangatharan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. According to the petitioner, the above mentioned property is an ancestral property and he has been cultivating the same, on the strength

of his long possession, the petitioner submitted a representation before the second respondent, seeking issuance of patta. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitionary has come before this Court.

5. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner has not produced any documents to substantiate his right over the subject property and hence, the representation has not been considered till date.

6. In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, the petitioner is directed to submit the documents in his favour to substantiate his right and possession over the subject property, before the second respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The second respondent shall consider the representation in the light of the documents to be submitted by the petitioner and to pass final orders on its own merits within a further period of six weeks.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
