This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondent to grant Scholarship and Special Scholarship Loan for the Academic Years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 to the petitioner, who is studying B.Ed., 1st year in Yadhava College of Education, Madurai based on the representation dated 29.11.2017.
2. Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthiah, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that she belongs to SC/ST Community and after completion of her B.Sc. (Maths), joined 1st year B.Ed., in Yadhava College of Education, Madurai. As her parents are coolie workers, she applied for scholarship and special scholarship loan for the years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 to the respondent and pursuant to the inaction on the part of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
respondent, she submitted a representation dated 29.11.2017 to the respondent for early consideration of the grant of loan. Since the said representation did not evoke any response so far, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that if a reasonable time is granted to the respondent, the representation of the petitioner will be considered and appropriate orders be passed.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking into account the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the representation dated 29.11.2017 of the petitioner and pass necessary orders regarding grant of scholarship, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
6. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
