Respondents PRAYER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st Respondent to dispose the mercy petition dated 04.09.2015 preferred by the petitioner for setting aside order passed by the 2nd respondent vide C.No.B2/APPEAL. 27/2015 dated 25.06.2015 confirming the punishment awarded by the 3rd respondent in P.R.No.21/2014 dated 12.05.2015 and within the period that may be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

Mr.A.K.Baskara Pandian, the learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3. 2.The prayer in the writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st Respondent to dispose of the mercy petition dated 04.09.2015 filed by the petitioner against the order of the 2nd respondent dated 25.06.2015 confirming the punishment awarded by the 3rd respondent dated 12.05.2015 within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

for final disposal.

4.Since the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the Mercy Petition dated 04.09.2015 against the punishment awarded against the petitioner is pending with the first respondent from 2015, if the same is directed to be disposed of at an early date, the petitioner would be satisfied. 5.Considering the submissions made on both sides, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to decide the Mercy Petition filed by the petitioner dated 04.09.2015 on merits and in accordance with law by passing a reasoned order within six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
