ORDER

This writ petition is filed for Writ of Mandamus seeking direction to the respondents to reconsider the admission and admit the petitioner's son Sujith in Class - I at 3rd respondent's Kendria Vidyalaya School No.1, Trichy.

2. Heard Mr.E.T.Rajendran, the Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the material documents available on record.

3. The Learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that this writ petition has been filed in the year 2021. The petitioner's claim was considered on merits. The criteria for admission is that the candidate should reside in an around the school within 8 Kms. The petitioner's son was previously selected based on the other criteria. However, the petitioner has produced certain documents. On verifying the documents, it is found that the 2/5

petitioner is not residing within 8 Kms., from the school. Therefore, the respondents have declined to grant admission.

4. Since the required condition was not satisfied for granting admission the petitioner son's admission was declined. Therefore, this writ petition is liable to be rejected.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed. 27.09.2023 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No ksa 3/5
