O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the 3rd and 4th Respondent to permit the petitioners to conduct the festival of Puraviyaedupu Vila in Sri Mennamudaiya Ayyanar Temple festival on 30.06.2023 and further direct 4th Respondent to provide adequate police protection for the said festival of Sri Mennamudaiya Ayyanar Temple situated in the Alangudi Village, Aranthangi Taluk, Pudukottai, by considering the representation, dated 31.05.2023. 2.Mr.B.Nambiselvan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3.The counsel for the petitioner would submit that since there is a 2/5

dispute between the two groups of people in conducting the temple festival, the petitioner has sent a representation to the third respondent on 31.05.2023. Since no conclusion has been arrived, this writ petition has been filed.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the peace committee meeting that was conducted by the Tahsildar, Aranthangi, failed, which concluded on 08.06.2023. Before that the above representation has been made by the petitioner on 31.05.2023. Only after that representation the peace committee meeting was arranged. 5.In view of the rivalry between two groups of people, another peace committee meeting can be held in the presence of the Tahsildar, Alangudi, who is the jurisdictional authority, even though the earlier peace committee meeting conducted by the Tahsildar, Aranthangi, failed. 6.Let the peace committee meeting be held by the Tahsildar, Alangudi, on 30.06.2023. All the parties concerned shall appear and participate in the peace committee meeting on that day without fail. Depending upon the resolution taken, either the authority or the parties if 3/5

aggrieved, may take further action in accordance with law. 7.With the above said directions, this writ petitioner stands disposed of. No costs.
