This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent police to file a final report within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The case of the prosecution is that accused has received money from the petitioner for arranging a Job. However, the accused person had cheated the petitioner without getting a job nor he returned the money. Hence, the case.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that three witnesses have already been examined and the respondent police need some more time to complete the investigation.

4. This Court is not able to appreciate the manner in which the case is pending without any progress. It appears that the respondent police has examined one witness for one year. If this is how the investigation 2/4

was conducted it is not known how the victims will be getting remedy from the police officers. The Superintendent of Police is directed to look into the issue and shall entrust the investigation to some other competent authority and shall ensure that the investigation is concluded as expeditiously as possible.
