:Respondent/Complainant PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.7 of 2017 and to file final report within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. ORDER

This criminal original petition is filed to direct the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.7 of 2017 and to file final report within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent.

3.The petitioner herein is a teaching staff in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The case has been registered against him and another person viz., Dr.P.K.Kalyani, Head of the Department of English and the matter is pending since 22.05.2017. 4.It is contented by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the respondent has not completed the investigation and dragging on without filing the final report. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner herein is withholding the very important file pertaining to the investigation and is part away with those documents, which caused impediment in completing the investigation.

6.It is also submitted by the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) that the request is made to the university authority to transfer the petitioner herein to some other place, so that the investigation officer can lay hands on the documents, which are relevant to the investigation.

7.Since some reasoning has been attributed against the petitioner for the delay in completing the investigation, this Court is not in a position to give a specific direction to the respondent to complete the investigation within a specific time as prayed by the petitioner herein. However, it is necessary and imperent on the part of the respondent to take necessary action to collect the documents and complete the investigation within a reasonable time.

8.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
