ORDER

The petitioner, who is claiming to be a trustee of the temple, has filed this petition seeking police protection to conduct festival of Sri Mariamman Temple.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, strong opposition has been made by the learned counsel, who is appearing for one of the villagers by submitting that the petitioner herein has caused damage to the Vinayagar Statue of the Parasakthi Temple, adjacent to the subject temple, for which, a criminal case has been registered as against the petitioner in Cr.No.56 of 2025.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents has also confirmed that a criminal case has been registered as against the petitioner.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the said criminal case is foisted one.

5.Be that as it may, the petitioner is facing an allegation that he has damaged Vinayagar statue, attached to the temple and therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief sought for. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed with liberty to workout his remedy before the competent civil Court.
