O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondent to refund the withheld amount of the petitioner, such as EMD and security deposit for the period 2016 for the works executed by the petitioner.

2. Mr.R.Prabhu Ramachandran, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he is a registered Contractor, who, pursuant to the tenders for various works, participated in the tenders and completed the works, by initially depositing required EMD and security deposit amount. The petitioner, on completion of all works, submitted a representation dated 15.11.2017 to the respondent along with completion certificate. Since no steps were taken on the representation for refund of the amount, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that if reasonable time is granted to the respondent, the representation of the petitioner will be considered and appropriate orders be passed.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking into account the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 15.11.2017 on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

6. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
