ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to correct the date of birth of the petitioner, as 18.07.1990, in her passport, in accordance with law. 2.Mr.S.Jeyasingh, learned counsel, takes notice for the respondent.

3.By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the stage of admission itself. 4.Heard both sides.

5.The case of the petitioner is that since her date of birth has been wrongly mentioned in her passport as 18.09.1990 instead of 18.07.1990, she made a representation, dated 06.12.2017, to the respondent. Since, the same has not been considered by the respondent, the petitioner is before this Court. 6.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that for the said purpose, the petitioner has to submit an application for re-issuance of passport alongwith earlier passport as well as necessary documents, before the respondent. 7.

Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the petitioner to submit an appropriate application for reissuance of passport along with earlier passport as well as necessary documents, to the respondent, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on such presentation, the respondent is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders on its own merit and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks, thereafter.

8.The writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
