Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to grant the Local Cable Operator licence to the petitioner at Krishnapuram and Adhikaripatti Villages, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District by considering the representation given by the petitioner dated 15.12.2017 within the time stipulated by this Court.

By consent, this writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Counsel, takes notice for the respondents.

3. The petitioner before this Court is a local Cable TV Operator and according to him, he has submitted an application seeking Local Cable Operator (LCO) Licence dated 01.03.2017, before the respondents. It is his specific contention that though by letter dated 08.12.2017, the first respondent has directed the second respondent to enquire and report back within a period of seven days, the second respondent has not taken any steps. Aggrieved thereby, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 15.12.2017, before the second respondent and as the same is also kept pending, without any action, the present petition came to be filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if the representation of the petitioner dated 15.12.2017, is disposed of by the second respondent, within a stipulated time limit.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.12.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merit and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
