O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed praying to direct the respondent to investigate the case in Crime No.3 of 2018 and to file the final report.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he was working as an Executive Engineer at Public Works Department/ Water Resources Organization, Korampallam Aru Basin Division, Thoothukudi. Due to illegal sale of sand belongs to Public Works Department, the respondent police registered a case in Crime No.3 of 2018, against the petitioner and others for the offence punishable under Sections 13(1)(c) and 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 r/w 109 of IPC.

3.The grievance of the petitioner is that the case was pending from 2018 onwards and he will attain superannuation on 31.05.2021. Hence, he prays before this Court to direct the respondent police to file final report in Crime No. 3 of 2018, within a stipulated period.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent stated that the investigation is going on and the final report will be filed within a period of six months. 5.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation and file final report within a period of four months https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
