Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give police protection for the temple festival of Sri Yeman Karuppasamy situated at Surangkudi Kanmai in Malaiyadikuruchi Village, Kadaiyanallur Taluk, Tirunelveli District, conducted by the petitioner on 7th and 8th of Tamil month of Aadi i.e., coming July 22nd and 23rd, 2016. O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give police protection for the temple festival of Sri Yeman Karuppasamy situated at Surangkudi Kanmai in Malaiyadikuruchi Village, Kadaiyanallur Taluk, Tirunelveli District, scheduled to be conducted by the petitioner on 22.07.2016 and 23.07.2016.

2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the Aadi festival is being conducted in Arulmigu Sri Yeman Karuppasamy temple, by the villagers regularly; that a representation was given to the respondents on 08.07.2016 seeking police protection for conducting the festival, however, the same was not considered by the respondents so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, gave an undertaking that the first respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.

6.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law forthwith, as the festival is scheduled to be held on 22.07.2016 and 23.07.2016.

7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
