O R D E R

This Writ petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and protection for awareness programme scheduled to be held on 27.12.2017 at about 5 to 8 hours, at Bangalamedu, Theni, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 11.12.2017.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner states that he is a member of C.P.I.(M.L.) Red Stare Party and he is also the District Executive Member of the said party. It is stated that the petitioner's party is regularly conducting Awareness Programme to promote the welfare of the people. In this regard, it is stated that the petitioner has approached the respondents to grant permission for conducting Awareness Programme by his party. It is further stated that the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents on 11.12.2017. Since the programme has been fixed on 27.12.2017, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks indulgence of this Court to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation.

Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer that is now sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to pass the following direction:- " The second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.12.2017 and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 25.12.2017."

5. With the above direction, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
