The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein to give police protection for the Aadi festival, scheduled to be conducted on 22.07.2016, in Arulmigu Sudalaimada Swamy Temple, Thalaivankottai Village, Nagaram P.O., Sivagiri Taluk, Tirunelveli District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 22.07.2016. 2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the Aadi festival is being conducted in the Arulmigu Sudalaimada Swamy Temple by the villagers regularly; that a representation was given to the second respondent on 16.07.2016 seeking police protection for the festival, however, the same was not considered by the second respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition. 5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, gave an undertaking that the second respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.
6.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law forthwith, as the programme is scheduled to be held on 22.07.2016.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
