ORDER

The petitioner, who is the defacto complainant in Cr.No.863 of 2019 on the file of the second respondent Police, has filed this petition seeking a direction to file the final report in the said case, within a time frame.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he was induced by the accused persons under the pretext of high investments and collected a sum of Rs.47.06 Lakhs. Though the case was registered in the year 2019, the respondent Police has not shown any progress and hence, the petitioner has filed the present petition.

3.Considering the manner in which, the respondent Police has not shown progress in the investigation, this Court by its earlier order dated 10.06.2025, directed the Commissioner of Police, Madurai City to look into this case and file a report. The Commissioner of Police, Madurai City has taken some initiative steps and transferred the investigation from the second respondent Police to some other Investigating Officer 2/5

and filed a report that he would follow up the investigation of the case in Cr.No.863 of 2019 and that the final report will be filed within a period of one month.

4.The Commissioner of Police, Madurai City has also taken initiative steps for conducting drive on the long pending cases by creating a method, namely Google Sheet monitoring system and he also assured this Court that long pending cases would be addressed soon. 5.Placing appreciation to the Commissioner of Police, Madurai City for the steps taken by him, this criminal original petition is closed with a direction to file the final report, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 01.07.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet:Yes gns 3/5
