ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and her children.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that she has a daughter aged about 21 years and a son aged about 14 years. The husband of the petitioner wants to forcibly marry the daughter to some person against the wishes of the daughter. It is also the case of the petitioner that the daughter wants to pursue her studies and she cannot be forced into a marriage. When this was informed to the husband of the petitioner, he has started involving in violence and on 24.08.2018 he had assaulted everyone in the family and broke the articles in the house.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner had given a complaint to the third respondent on 30.08.2018 in this regard.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the police have received this complaint and it is in the process of conducting enquiry. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) further submits that the police will conduct necessary enquiry within a period of one week and take necessary action on the complaint.

5.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), there shall be a direction to the second respondent to immediately enquire into the complaint, dated 30.08.2018, given by the petitioner after calling the necessary parties. If the respondent police is satisfied with the petitioner and her daughters are exposed to violence and there is danger to their life and limb, necessary protection may be given to them by the second respondent police.

6.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
