PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to grant necessary police protection to the petitioner's life and limb and enter the Survey No.255/2B, Rettaiyoorani Village, Post, Ramanathapuram Taluk, District.

O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to grant necessary police protection to the petitioner's life and limb and enter the Survey No.255/2B, Rettaiyoorani Village, Post, Ramanathapuram Taluk, District.

2. The petitioner seeks police protection stating that the petitioner is having land with coconut trees in the adjacent land in Survey No.255/2B1 extent of 77 cents. The third respondent has forced the petitioner to sell the above said land. The respondents 3 to 5 are the powerful person in the locality. The petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent. But the second respondent has not registered a case. She has also made a complaint dated 25.06.2020 to the District Collector, Ramanathapuram and the same has forwarded to the first respondent. So far, no action has been taken by the respondent police. Hence, the present petition. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2, on instructions, would submit that the complaint of the petitioner, dated 25.06.2020, has been received by the respondent police.

C rl.O.P.(MD)No.12634 of 2020 4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

5.Considering the submission made on either side, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.06.2020, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and give police protection to the petitioner, if necessary. If it is found that police protection is not necessary, the same shall be communicated to the petitioner so that she can work out her rights in the manner known to law.

6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
