ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to assign Punja land situated at S.No.434/114 having an extent of 80 cents in Periyammapatti Village, Palani Taluk of Dindigul District and issue Form 'F' Patta under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Disposal of Surplus Land) Rules, 1965 by considering his representation dated 30.04.2025.

2. Heard the arguments of Mr.K.Chengizkhan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. It is the case of the petitioner that he has been in possession and enjoyment of the above mentioned land for the past 35 years right from the death of his grandmother. The petitioner belongs to depressed class and on the strength of his long possession, he submitted a representation before the first respondent on 30.04.2025 seeking assignment of the road side land and issuance of 'F' patta. The copy of the representation was also sent to the respondents 2 to 4. However, till date, the same has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

5. Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents, would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law within a time stipulated by this Court.

6. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the entitlement of the petitioner to get assignment of the aforementioned land, this Court is inclined to direct the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.04.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
