The respondent police registered a case as against the petitioners in Crime No.263 of 2024 for the offence under Sections 147, 148, 323, 324 and 506 (ii) I.P.C r/w. Section 4 of TNPHW Act and remanded them into judicial custody on 20.06.2024. Therefore, the petitioners have filed this petition seeking bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that due to property dispute, the petitioners along with other accused abused the defacto complainant and her father and also assaulted them by using knife and caused grievous injuries.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. However, they are languishing in Jail from 20.06.2024.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent strongly opposes for grant of bail on the ground that the petitioners are having several previous cases. He further submits that the injured discharged from the hospital and they are taking treatment in private clinic.

5. The learned counsel for the intervenor submits that if the petitioners come out on bail, they have to murder the defacto complainant and there is no safety for her, hence, he strongly opposed for releasing the petitioners.

6. Considering the nature of injuries and also considering the gravity of the offence and the previous antecedent of the petitioners, this Court is not inclined to 2/3

grant bail to the petitioner, at this stage.
