O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents herein to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting the Kabadi Tournament at Ammankovil Thidal, Melaputhaneri Village, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District from 28.12.2017 to 30.12.2017. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the villagers jointly decided to conduct "Kabadi" tournament from 28.12.2017 to 30.12.2017 at Ammankovil Thidal, Melaputhaneri Village, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District. He further submitted that in this connection, a representation was given to the respondent on 04.12.2017, seeking permission and protection to conduct the Kabadi tournament on the above said dates. However, the respondent Police has not considered the request of the petitioner and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this Writ Petition.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has produced before this Court, the order passed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tirunelveli, dated 21.12.2017, rejecting the permission, to the petitioner, for conducing Kabadi Tournament.

5.In view of the order passed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tirunelveli, this Writ Petition is dismissed. However, liberty is given to the petitioner to challenge the said order dated 21.12.2017, if he so advised. No costs.
