The petitioner with a grievance that his complaint, which was culminated into Crime No.577 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police, has not reached its finality, has approached this Court, seeking a direction to the respondent police to file the final report within a time stipulated by this Court. 2.Today(09.06.2025), when this Criminal Original Petition is taken up for admission, Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) takes notice for the respondent and submits that the investigation in Crime No.577 of 2024 is almost completed and they are about to file the final report. According to the learned Government Advocate, the final report would be filed within a period of two weeks.

3.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) that the final report would be filed shortly, this Criminal Original Petition is closed. It is made clear that mere filing of the final report is not sufficient and it is the responsibility 2/5

of the respondent police to ensure that the final report is taken on file by the concerned Court within a period of two weeks.
