ORDER

The prayer in this writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the petitioner's application dated 15.06.2019 within time frame fixed by this Court. 2.Heard Mr.T.Vadivelan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Anand learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

3.With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

4.The petitioner has given an appeal under Section 23 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, before the respondent on 15.06.2019 and the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, if a direction is given to the respondent to decide the appeal on merits, within a time frame, the petitioner would be satisfied. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5.I have heard the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, who would submit that, the said appeal filed by the petitioner to the respondent would be decided on merits within a time frame.

6.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition and having regard to the submissions made by both sides, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition, with the following direction:

"The respondent is hereby directed to decide the appeal filed by the petitioner on 15.06.2019 under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, on merits, after hearing the petitioner as well as the son of the petitioner, by giving separate notice to them and pass final orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."

7.With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
