[Order of the Court was made by S.S.SUNDAR, J.] This contempt petition is filed alleging disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P(MD)No.16824 of 2017 dated 30.11.2022, wherein, this Court directed the respondent authorities to conduct inspection in the subject lands, after due notice to all the parties concerned and file a comprehensive report enclosing required documents, photographs, etc., within a period of six weeks. 2.
The Assistant Director of Geology and Mining, Thoothukudi, has filed a status report furnishing several details. In paragraph 6 of the report, it is stated that the value of the mineral removed from the SF.No.1 of V.Vedappatti Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, is fixed at Rs.8,73,000/- and that penalty proceedings had also been initiated against the 5th respondent and land owners vide Rc.No.313/GM1/2023 dated 23.06.2023 under Rule 36(A)(3) of the Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1959.

This Court finds that the report is in compliance with the directions of this Court. Hence, recording the compliance, this Contempt Petition is closed.
