Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take appropriate legal action against the illegal mining of gravel in the Punja land of the petitioner in S.No.533/1B to the extent of 0.9.25 Hectares at Saminatham Village in Ottapidaram Taluk in Thoothukudi District and thereby having evacuated gravel to the depth of about 20 feet throughout the area rendering Punja land of the petitioner unfit for cultivation or for any other purpose and to restore the land to its original position or alternatively to pay just damages.

O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

2. The case of the petitioner is that from her land, sand was unauthorisedly quarried and a deep pit had been caused. The photographs enclosed in the typed set of papers clearly reveal the ground reality prevailing.

3. The petitioner is therefore directed to approach the SIPCOT police station by giving a written complaint. The SIPCOT police is directed to register the First Information Report based on the petitioner's complaint and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

4. This writ petition stands disposed of on these terms. No costs.
