PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the respondents to provide necessary police protection to the petitioner and his family from the harassments and criminal acts of his creditors, for their illegal demands of exorbitant interest from the petitioner.

O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide necessary police protection to the petitioner and his family from the harassments and criminal acts of his creditors, for their illegal demands of exorbitant interest from the petitioner.

2. The petitioner seeks police protection stating that the petitioner used to obtain loans after mortgaging his properties and executing documents and issuing blank cheques. The petitioner has paid more than the loan amount to all his creditors. But his creditors are demanding exorbitant interest for his loans and giving life threat to him. He has also made a complaint to the third respondent on 06.10.2020 seeking adequate police protection. He has also made a representation dated 30.10.2020 to the respondents 1 and 2 in this regard. So far, no action has been taken by the respondent police. Hence, the present petition.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 30.10.2020 and give police protection, if it is necessary.

4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

5. Considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the third respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 30.10.2020, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If necessary, the respondent police is directed to give police protection to the petitioner. If it is found that police protection is not necessary, based on the petitioner's complaint, the representation shall be rejected and the same shall be communicated to the petitioner so that he can work out his rights in the manner known to law.

6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
