..Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adalpadal program scheduled to be held on 04.02.2017 in connection with Puravi Eduthal Festival in Sri Velli Poojaikaransamy Thirukovil at Uchathaanpatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 25.12.2016. For Petitioner : Mr.S.Selvakumar For Respondents : Mr.R.Velmurugan, Government Advocate.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission to perform program of Adalpadal in Uchathaanpatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District on 04.02.2017, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.Mr.R.Velmurugan, learned Government Advocate, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that on 25.12.2016 a representation has been given to the respondents with regard to granting of permission of conducting program of Adalpadal. But the same has not been considered.

4.Considering the fact that already a representation has been given on 25.12.2016, the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Keelavalavu Police Station, Madurai District can be directed as indicated below.

5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Keelavalavu Police Station, Madurai District is directed to look into the representation dated 25.12.2016 and dispose of the same within a period of one week.
