Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to perform the cultural programme (i.e.,) Dance programme on 15.01.2017 at 06.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. in the Pongal festival at Keelapoongudi, Kallal via, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission to perform cultural programme viz., dance programme in Keelapoongudi, Kallal via, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District on 15.01.2017, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus.

2.Mr.R.Velmurugan, learned Government Advocate, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that on 02.01.2017 a representation has been given to the respondents with regard to granting of permission of conducting cultural programme viz., dance programme. But the same has not been considered. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.Considering the fact that already a representation has been given on 02.01.2017, the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Kallal Police Station, Sivagangai District can be directed as indicated below.

5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Kallal Police Station, Sivagangai District is directed to look into the representation dated 02.01.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of one week.
