Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and protection for conducting the Seval Kattu (Cock Fight) scheduled to be held on 08.04.2017 and 09.04.2017 at Thanjavur District, Pattukottai Taluk, Vattathikottai Police Limit Va.Kollaikadu Village Public Ground (Manthai). [Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting cock fight in the place mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus.

Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents. 3.It is seen from the records that on 07.02.2017 a representation has been given to the respondents, but the same has not been considered. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order. 4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the third respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Vattathikottai Police Station, Thanjavur District is directed to look into the representation dated 07.02.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
