************ [Order of the Court was made by K.RAVICHANDRABAABU, J.] This writ petition is filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to expedite the trial and dispose of the case in E.D.No.1 of 2018.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondent.

3.It is stated that the petitioner has filed an application under Section 90 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act, 1983, in E.D.P.No.1 of 2018 before the respondent challenging the election results, in respect of the election conducted to Pacode Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society. The grievance of the petitioner is that the Election Petition has not been disposed of by the respondent so far, though several hearings have taken place.

4.The limited relief sought for in this writ petition is for speedy disposal of the said Election Petition. Therefore, without expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in the Election Petition, we direct the respondent to take up the said matter and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
