The prayer in the writ petition is for a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's union representation dated 11.02.2017 for promotion/upgradation to the post of Assistant Manager (Technical) in Poompuhar Shipping
Corporation Limited and to pass orders in accordance with law, within a stipulated time.
2.Mr.S.Satheeshkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and with consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's union, in order to ventilate the grievance of the petitioner's union employees of respondent corporation had given a detailed representation dated 11.02.2017, seeking some audience from the first respondent to ventilate their grievances. Even the minimum request made on behalf of the petitioner's Association has not been considered so far by the respondents, therefore they approached this Court.
4. Heard the learned counsel on both sides.
5. In view of the prayer sought for herein, which is innocuous in nature, this writ petition is disposed of with the following direction:
"that the first respondent shall give an audience to the members of the petitioner's Association by fixing a time and date to ventilate the grievances of the members of the petitioner Association and on having heard such grievances of the petitioner's members, the same can be decided by the management of the respondent corporation, on merits and in accordance with law as early as possible."
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
