Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event scheduled performed by Kodumudi - Annai Balan Troop to be held on 27.02.2017 at night in connection with the "Masi Festival" in Arulmigu Sri Maarnadu Karuppasamy Kovil at Kovil Kalaiyarangam, A.Thottiyapatti Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 25.01.2017.

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting cultural event in the place mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

not been considered and therefore this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, T.Kallupatti Police Station, Madurai District is directed to look into the representation dated 25.01.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
