O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent herein to grant permission to conduct the Aadi Festival of Poi Solla Mai Ayyanar Kovil at Kattukudipatti, Thiruppathur Taluk, Sivagangai District on 07.08.2016.

2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the festival is being conducted by the villagers regularly; that a representation was given to the respondent on 25.07.2016 seeking permission and protection for the festival, however, the same was not considered by the respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 25.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.

6.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 25.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law forthwith, as the programme is scheduled to be held on 07.08.2016.

7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
